JS Tip 548: A Leadership Test
Dana Brownlee, the founder of Professionalism Matters, has developed an intriguing test for leaders.
She suggests leaders should ask themselves five questions:
Has anyone on my team criticized one of my ideas in the past month?
Do I spend more time planning my career progression than that of my team members?
Have I had at least three completely non-work-related conversations with a team member this week?
Would different team members provide the same answers if they were asked what my top three priorities are for the year? (In other words, do my team members know what my priorities are?)
Are my team members afraid to fail?
Talk to us. What do you think? A good test?
What questions would you add?
What questions would you delete?
We love this stuff.
